Clarence L. Betleyoun
Artist Biography

Artist / Instructor

Clarence Betleyoun (Bet - Leon) worked in graphic arts for several years before turning to teaching and painting full time.  Clarence has taught wekly art classes, continuing ed art classes at local colleges, was art instructor at the Center for the Arts at Wesleyan College, art teacher at a private local school and now paints full time and also, teaches national and international painting workshops.

Clarence paints with oils, acrylics, watercolor, pastels, graphite, colored pencil, and charcoal.  He also, does sculptures in clay, soapstone, alabaster, and marble.  Subjects for his paintings and sculptures range from figure, portraits, landscapes, seascapes, wildlife and still-lifes.

Clarence has exhibited his work in national and international group shows and also, has had several one-man shows.  His work is included in permanent collections of colleges, museumsn corporate and private collections throughout the United States and several foreign countries.

Clarence is listed on Artnet and was listed in Who's Who in Art in Great Britain for 2006 and 2004.

Clarence is a member of Oil Painters of America, International Acrylic Association -United States and Great Britain (Signature Member) California Art Club, American Watercolor Association and The Artist Professional League.

Receiving an Associate degree from Macon State College, Clarence went on to study Watercolor Painting at Mercer University, Portrait and Figure Painting at Wesleyan College Continue Ed...He also, did additional study at the Chatov Studio in Atlanta and painting workshops with Burton Silverman -Portrait and Figure and Watercolor Landscape Painting with Ray Ellis.
